Podcast:
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/shows/podcast.html

Between 1959 and 1975, Stax Records in Memphis, Tennessee released international chart-topping hits such as "Soul Man," "Dock of the Bay," "Green Onions," "Midnight Hour," "Respect Yourself," and the theme from SHAFT. The label's artists included Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Booker T. & the MG's, Rufus and Carla Thomas, the Staple Singers, Isaac Hayes, and even Richard Pryor and Jesse Jackson. Founded by a white conservative bank teller who played country fiddle music, Stax became the preeminent soul music label in America, and became identified with the civil rights movement of the 1960s and '70s. RESPECT YOURSELF documents the Stax label, its visionaries, and most of all, its music.
The Stax Museum of American Soul Music: http://www.soulsvilleusa.com located at the original site of the legendary Stax Records in the heart of Soulsville USA in Memphis, Tennessee, welcomes you to all things Stax. This 17,000-square-foot facility with more than 2,000 cultural artifacts, music exhibits, video footage, and items of memorabilia is designed to preserve and promote the legacy of American soul music, particularly that of Stax Records. With permanent Soul Music exhibits, like Soul Train, to changing exhibits, like Wattstax and Blaxploitation, the mission of the Stax Museum is to keep the memory of Stax soul music legends alive forever. Jimi Jamison Interview (After the World Stage show at Lokeren/Belgium, August 6, 2007) By Nick Muller. After a long night of playing with World Stage, Jimi Jamison was obviously more than willing to explain his problems with guitarist Frankie Sullivan, which led to his departure from Survivor for the second time in early 2006.

The consummate rock-blues guitarist, Eric Clapton was an established "rock star" long before his solo career began in 1970. From the Yardbirds, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends to Derek and the Dominos, Clapton had proved his mettle as a versatile performer and a guitar legend before embarking on a solo career that would be just as varied and successful. Edgy and powerful, reflective and tender, and every emotion in between, the Slowhand helped define entire sub-genres of rock, blues and folk.
