6-7p will be mingling and networking And continued vocal showcase. Tthe Awards ceremony will start at 8p with a big production number; and is schedule for three hours. Hosting duties will be shared this year between Bart and Bill Landry and may include some guest presenter.
This year several nominated bands will be able to showcase their original music as the top five song will be performed during the awards show. Nitelife will also feature Movie clips and video of several of the nominees.
Well the party is really a good time. With an hour of FREE food and drink it is well worth the price the of admission. But the main reason to go is to network with the industry people in attendance. Bands in particular should go to meet clubs owners, managers and other bands. There will be a table set up for bands to have their promo material available. From 1968 to 1974, Jamestown Massacre played at nearly every teen club, youth center, high school and college in and around Chicago. In the spring of 1972, the group traveled to Detroit and recorded six tunes, one of which was “Summer Sun.” The song was quickly released locally on the LUV label and was soon after picked up by Warner Brothers records and sold around the world.
